Biography

With a degree in Medicine and Surgery (University of Chile) specialising in Gynaecology and Obstetrics and a Master’s Degree in Human Reproduction (University of Valencia), Doctor Álvarez has spent over 15 years working both in Chile and Spain. For 7 years he formed part of the medical team at the Valencian Institute for Infertility (IVI) until becoming part of URE Centro Gutenberg’s medical team in 2010. At URE he has served as Medical Director since 2012. Together with his colleague Miguel Lara, he became Co Director of the clinic in 2017. As the author of remarkable articles of scientific and medical interest such as “Dopamine agonist cabergoline reduces hemoconcentration and ascitys in hyperstimulated women undergoing assisted reproduction”, Dr. Álvarez regularly speaks at both national and international conferences and meetings. Specifically, he spoke at the ESHRE Conference in 2006 and was pre selected for the “Promising Young Clinician Award”.

He is a member of the Spanish Fertility Society and specifically forms part of the Endocrinology Interest Group.
