SDM Narayana Heart Centre, a joint venture of SDM College of Medical Sciences & Hospital and Narayana Health came into existence in the month of Jan, 2009 under the dynamic leadership of Dr. D. Veerendara Heggede and Dr. Devi Prasad Shetty, a world renowned Cardiac Surgeon & Chairman of Narayana Health Group of Hospitals. The mission and vision of these icons is that no one should be deprived of world class quality healthcare services at affordable prices and to have integrated healthcare delivery with compassionate patient care. The SDM Narayana Heart Centre, Dharwad s a 75 bedded cardiac care centre and is providing world class quality heart health services at affordable prices since last 13 years. Hospital has treated over 2.2 lakh patients in OPD and performed more than 27,000 Invasive Cardiology procedures (Angiography and Angioplasty and including pacemaker implantation & Valvular balloon procedures) 1200+ Pediatric Device Closures and more than 6000 open heart surgeries including bypass surgeries, Valvular, vascular & paediatric cardiac surgeries have been successfully performed.

The Paediatric Cardiac Centre at SDM Narayana Heart Centre, Dharwad is a state of the art department for treatment of all congenital heart diseases including complex cyanotic heart diseases and adult congenital heart disease patients, department has dedicated Senior Consultant Paediatric Cardiac Surgeon and Consultant Paediatric Cardiologist. So far have performed more than 1200 paediatric cardiac interventions non- surgical device closures of the heart apart from other procedures including pacemaker implantation, and more than 1000 paediatric cardiac surgeries with excellent results.
