Overview
Rathcoole Medical Centre was founded in 1979 by Dr Jim Clarke. It has been serving the four districts of Rathcoole, Saggart, Newcastle and Brittas for over four decades. We are located on the Main Steet of Rathcoole Village near the Poitín Stil pub.
Jim’s daughter Dr Ailsa Clarke joined the practice in 2016 having completed her GP Vocational training in Liverpool. Irene Dillon and Noreen Penrose, our two excellent secretaries have been with the practice for more than 20 years.
Anne Desmond is an experienced Practice Nurse and is Midwife trained. She joined our team in 2021. Our Practice priority is to provide compassionate and individualised care to all ages.

Dr Clarke is very easy to talk to.Reminds me of my old family gp in clondalkin DrGeraghty.
I’ve attended Dr Clarke surgery for over 30 years. I’m now his daughters Patient I can’t recommend the whole team enough. My health took a serious turn in the last few years. I couldn’t of been listened to, supported or shown any more compassion then I have been by Dr Alisa Clarke & the whole team. I know so many Endometriosis sufferers that aren’t listened to or their pain taken seriously. I feel blessed to not of had the awful experiences my fellow EndoSisters have. I feel lucky for the great experiences I’ve had with Dr Clarke.
Doctor jim Clarke was my Doctor for over 40 great man to have a chat and a bit of criac whit always sorted me out I recently have been attending his daughters clinic aswell Doctor elsa Clarke iam suffering with a very rare disease a few years which is very hard to diagnose at times I felt no one was listening to me when I first attended dr elsa she told me I belive you and we will get to the bottom of it I can't thank her and staff enough for going above and beyond help me highly recommended thanks guys for everything top of the pops
